The British Pearl Association
The British Pearl Association (BPA) is a national trade interest group which promotes the growth of UK pearl gems and pearl jewellery suppliers. With a growing membership of companies, BPA represents pearl (cultured and natural) designer jewellers, craftsmen and women, pearl jewellery wholesalers and suppliers, galleries, internet retailers and traders. Founded by President Louise Tippey, the BPA provides strong leadership for the UK pearl industry, specially offering support, promotion opportunities and advice for budding pearl jewellery designers. Our mission is to promote awareness, interest and demand for Pearls on behalf of the retail community and at a consumer level. This includes a special commitment to support young British jewellery designers. And a special commitment to support fair trade and sustainable pearls. Through 2 key pillars of Promotion and Education, we aim to inspire a genuine passion for all Pearl varieties and style of jewellery design. We are committed to: Helping members to improve their prosperity by increasing consumer confidence Educating consumers about Pearls and the UK Pearl Industry Increasing the UK market share for BPA members Through BPA membership, individuals and businesses benefit from savings, recognition, knowledge and exposure required to help their businesses grow in the UK and abroad. The BPA has its own permanent Secretariat, which is based in Henley on Thames, managed by President Louise Tippey. Members are kept closely informed of all decisions taken by the association and are encouraged to participate in the running of their association. We believe communicative, open and honest relationships is the best way to manage the BPA for the benefit of the current and future generation. There are 3 classifications of BPA membership: Full member – annual subscriptions are based on number of employees.
